The Havahart Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent remains true to its name by humanely repelling unwanted animals from certain areas in your home, such as your garden, pool, or outdoor fireplace. It accomplishes this by spraying a few cups of water to animal intruders.
The device is equipped with a motion and thermal sensor that can detect movement within a 180 degree angle up to 10 meters away. This is sensitive enough to detect the movement of both large and small animals such as deer, groundhogs, dogs, raccoons, cats, skunks, rabbits, and squirrels.
Once movement is detected, the sprinkler automatically shoots a burst of water towards the moving object. It pauses for eight seconds, and if it still detects movement, it fires again. This impresses the animal with randomness thus preventing it from becoming accustomed to the water sprayer.
Havahart does not employ chemicals that could potentially cause lasting damage to either animal or your protected area. Plain water is used but the manner of its delivery to the intruding animal is sufficient to scare it away.
Installation is easy as all you need to do is to attach it a garden hose, peg it into a strategic location within your protected area, and insert a 9-volt battery. The battery can be expected to run for about six months or 3,000 firings operating day in and day out.
